Jake's practice focuses on estate planning, business, and real estate law. He advises individuals, families, entrepreneurs, and business owners on a broad range of legal matters, helping clients preserve wealth, protect their assets, and navigate important personal and business decisions with confidence. Whether developing sophisticated estate plans, guiding families through probate and trust administration, assisting with business formation and succession planning, or advising on real estate transactions, Jake is committed to providing practical, strategic counsel tailored to each client's unique objectives.
A native of West Michigan, Jake grew up in Grand Haven and graduated from Grand Haven High School. He earned his bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University before spending four years as a middle school teacher in Denver, Colorado. His passion for serving others ultimately led him to pursue a legal career, and he earned his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law in 2024.
While in law school, Jake gained valuable legal experience through an internship with Haworth, Inc., competed on Michigan State Law's negotiation team, and clerked with Parmenter Law before joining the firm as an attorney. Since joining Parmenter Law as an associate, he has developed a diverse practice representing clients in estate planning, probate, business, and real estate matters. Clients appreciate Jake's ability to explain complex legal issues in clear, practical terms, his responsiveness, and his thoughtful approach to solving problems and building lasting relationships.
Jake believes that effective legal counsel begins with listening. He takes the time to understand each client's goals and priorities, providing trusted guidance designed to protect what matters most today while planning for the future.
Outside the office, Jake enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, training for marathons, and exploring new destinations.
