Sawyer joined Parmenter Law in the Summer of 2020. He is originally from Armada, Michigan, a small village 40 miles north of Detroit. Sawyer obtained his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and proudly worked through college at the Michigan State University Police Department. Thereafter, Sawyer attended law school in Grand Rapids, Michigan at Western Michigan Cooley Law School and graduated magna cum laude in 2019. His practice concentrates on civil litigation, public sector, and business law.
During his time at WMU-Cooley Law School, Sawyer obtained the Certificate of Merit award in several of his classes. Sawyer was on the Board of Editors of the WMU-Cooley Law Review, member of the school’s mentorship program, and volunteered with the Michigan Poverty Law Program.
In 2018, Sawyer gained valuable federal litigation experience at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan as the Judicial Extern for Honorable Janet T. Neff. There, Sawyer was able to develop his legal research and writing skills and learn from the top litigators in the country. Prior to joining Parmenter, Sawyer practiced at a Grand Rapids firm focused on business, real estate, and health care law. Sawyer serves his hometown of Armada, Michigan through annual summer camp programs for children held here in West Michigan.
