Linda joined the firm in 1990 and specializes in elder law including Medicaid eligibility for long term care, probate law and estate planning, including special needs trusts for disabled individuals. Her passion in the elder law area and for those with disabilities was fueled by her father’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease and his years of long term care. Because of this personal experience, Linda provides both legal and practical counsel to families faced with disabling illnesses.
Linda is a member of the Lakeshore Elder Alliance, a member of the NAELA (National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys) and a board member of Senior Resources of West Michigan. She also participates in seminars relating to Medicaid, long term care issues, estate planning and probate court proceedings. Linda is also certified in Veteran's benefits.
In addition to elder law, Linda has experience in employee benefits law, assisting employers with the creation and administration of retirement and welfare benefit plans such as 401(k) profit sharing plans, 457 plans, cafeteria plans and health reimbursement accounts.
On a personal level, Linda lives in North Muskegon with her husband and 2 cats. Although North Muskegon is now home, Linda’s heart remains in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where she was born and raised. She and her husband enjoy the beauty and peace of nature.
